Year 12 Graduation Information

I hope all Year 12 parents and guardians are looking forward to celebrating Senior Graduation with their sons on Friday! Please see below some important information that will help the day run smoothly for everyone.

Health Advice

As per the latest Qld Government COVID-19 Health Advice, the current traffic light level is ‘Amber’. Please familiarise yourself with the Amber advice via the Qld Government website https://www.qld.gov.au/health/conditions/health-alerts/coronavirus-covid-19/health-advice/traffic-light-advice. The College supports the wearing of masks when social distancing is not possible, or at any other time during the Graduation Mass, Graduation Celebration and Graduation Dinner. It is not a requirement that you wear a mask to attend these events.

As always, please do not attend any of the Graduation events if you are unwell or have any flu-like symptoms.

The College will communicate any health advice changes to Year 12 parents and guardians via email and College app notice. Please ensure you are checking these platforms regularly for any updates.

Graduation Day

Please carefully read the following Graduation Day information;

  • Graduation Day is always a very hot day. Please ensure that you are dressed appropriately for the weather and that you bring a hat and a water bottle.
  • Water and light snacks will be provided for Year 12 students and parents/guardians on the McMahon Oval during the Graduation Celebration. Water will be available for other guests to purchase at the Grandstand Canteen. All proceeds from water sales will go to Marist Solidarity.
  • Year 12 parents and guardians will be invited to sit under a large marquee on McMahon Oval for the Graduation Celebration, opposite the Year 12 students. All other family members will be asked to sit in the Grandstand seating with the rest of the school.
  • Current MCA students who are attending the Graduation Day celebrations as a brother of a graduating student are expected to be dressed in full summer uniform. They are also expected to return to class after the Graduation Celebrations have concluded.

Graduation Dinner Photography
