Congratulations to St Mary’s alumni, Cassandra Wright! We are very proud of your achievements. After a superb Final we are delighted to announce the winner of our Young Singers’ Competition 2021, soprano Cassandra Wright! Second prize winner is Jessica Cale. Ilan Kurtser wins the accompanists’ prize.
Congratulations to Joel Mundie (Year 12) on his success at the Queensland State Swimming Championships in late December. Joel competed in 6 x Multi-Class swims and came away with Gold in all of them, breaking six Queensland Open and Age Multi-Class records and four National Age records.
2022 sees another big year for Joel in the pool with his acceptance into the Swimming Australia National Para Development Team. St Mary's is so proud of you, Joel!
Congratulations to Lachlan King (Year 12) who signed up today as a School Based Apprentice with WIP Construction. Lachlan will be undertaking a Cert III in Carpentry. All the best with your apprenticeship Lachlan.
Congratulations to Ryley Ferguson (Year 11) who signed up as school-based apprentice with My Build Solutions. He will be undertaking a Certificate III in Carpentry. Good work Ryley!
St Mary’s Alumni Tahlulah Tillett (2015 graduate) has been named in the 2022 NRL Indigenous Women’s All Star team who played last Saturday night in Sydney.
For the NRLW season beginning at the end of February, Tahlulah will be playing half back for the New Castle Knights.

St Mary’s Alumni Regan Lane participated in the Queensland Indigenous Youth Leadership Program. Part of the program is to participate in the Eric Deeral Indigenous Youth Parliament.

Congratulations CTC Postdoctural Research Associate Alumni Dr Luke Carroll (graduation in 2007) on being awarded the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship. As a Fulbright Scholarship, Luke will visit a leading endocrinology group at Wake Forest University to learn cutting edge research techniques to investigate mitochondrial function in individual with Diabetes.
