Celebrating Pi Day

Incredible feats of memory from Luc, Scout and Millie with Mr Malcolm

All round fun at Maths Help

Traditionally celebrated on March 14, because the date “3/14” resembles the mathematical constant's approximate value of 3.14, we took some time during Maths Help last week to have some fun (and pies!)

On Thursday 16 March, Pi Day was celebrated at our Maths Help sessions with great success. Students joined together to celebrate and discuss their favourite number, as well as enjoy the offerings of circular desserts.  Thank you to all students who competed in the Pi recital competition, and particular congratulations to the top 3 competitors, who all managed to surpass the record from last year - Millie Collodetti (1st - 132 digits), Luc Berry (2nd - 126 digits), and Scout Magain (3rd - 111 digits). It was amazing to see such strong memory skills from so many students. Thank you as well to Dhairya Hans (12G) for assisting with promotional posters and scorekeeping on the day.

Maths Help is every Thursday after school, upstairs in B Block. All welcome.
