International Women's Day

Celebrating our female and gender diverse peers

International Women's Day and the events we held for it have been a huge success. Thanks to FemCo and each student who contributed in preparation for IWD, we were able to raise over $1,200 dollars for Djirra. Djirra is an organisation that provides support and shelter to Indigenous Australian women who have faced or are currently facing domestic violence and abuse. We are thrilled with the outcome, and very grateful for students that helped raise funds.

Both the Tuesday and Wednesday celebrating IWD, FemCo had the opportunity to engage a wide variety in students in activities such as the free dress day, food stalls, badge making among others. FemCo really enjoyed providing a happy and safe atmosphere to celebrate and commemorate our female and gender diverse peers.

Thank you so much for everyone who donated, participated, and planned our International Women's Day celebrations. It couldn't have been as successful as it was without all of our students helping.

International Women's Day was a truly fun experience, and we are so grateful that NHS gives us these kinds of opportunities. FemCo runs every Tuesday lunctime in C1 and is available to all NHS students.
