PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT INFORMATION SESSION

On Tuesday 8th November, students in Year 5 and Year 6 as well as the female students in Year 4 attended a very informative Personal Development information session facilitated by Mrs Margaret Burns. Mrs Burns, from Narrabri Community Health, spoke with the students in an age appropriate manner discussing their physical, mental and emotional changes. With a parent or guardian also in attendance, it aimed to provide an opportunity for further family decisions at home. The session aligned with the Stage 3 PDHPE syllabus to educate students about these changes and how these facets make each of us unique.

REMEMBRANCE DAY

For Remembrance Day our School Captains Romeo Backhouse-Smith and Charlee Dickinson attended a Remembrance Day Ceremony at the Narrabri RSL. Romeo and Charlee were commended for their excellent public speaking skills and well prepared presentation on the importance of Remembrance Day.

As a school, we paid our respects to the Diggers through a remembrance prayer and service under the COLA. The students coloured and created their own poppies to lay under the flag poles.

SCHOOL ADVISORY COUNCIL - ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Last Monday evening, our School Advisory Council held their Annual General Meeting. Elections were held for three open positions on the committee. These positions were filled by Natalie Holland and Meredith Conaty who are returning members and new member, Tilla Winston-Smith. At the meeting Natalie was elected chairperson and Meredith was elected secretary for a twelve month term.

Thank you to our outgoing chairperson, Guy Roth for your commitment to this role for the past three years.

The School Advisory Council meets once a Term to advise Parish Priests and Principals with pastoral leadership and leadership responsibility in Catholic systemic schools. It  plays a vital role in assisting the strategic direction the school is taking. Thank you to these members for taking on such a pivotal role within our school community.
