Mini Olympics

The students had a wonderful afternoon on Wednesday competing in the Cavendish PS Mini Olympics.

The Countries represented were France, Italy, Kenya, Canada, Brazil and Japan.  There we six students in each team and they all rotated around the 6 activities, soccer, hurdles/sprint, basketball, long jump, skipping and the bean bag toss. The gold medal went to Japan, silver to Kenya and bronze to Italy.

The students were so well behaved and showed amazing sportsmanship, especially the senior students helping out our younger students.  You should all be very proud of yourselves.  It was also great that Sybil was able to bring in her grandfather's (Peter Young) real Sydney 2000 Olympic torch to use for our opening ceremony.

Cathy Norris came to take photos on behalf of the Hamilton Spectator, so keep an eye out for some pictures in the paper!  A big thank you to all the spectators that turned up to watch and help out with the scoring and to the staff for organising the day.  We hope you all enjoyed it!
