Girls Rugby League Killa 9’s
Congratulations to the Girls Rugby League Killa 9's team who played Wednesday 1 November in the Regional Finals at Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School. The girls played really well defeating Oxley 3 tries to 1, Moree 3 tries to 1 before going down to a very strong St Joseph's Aberdeen team 5 tries to 1. The girls played incredibly well on a hot day with limited reserves. Thank you to Tanya Laird and Jorja Barnett for all their help.
The team included; Ellie Crompton, Emily Dietrich, Lily Dow, Isobel Murray, Lucy Pascoe, Bonni Porter, Addison Reid, Ashyla Strudwick, Jayla Suey, Lily Walker, Zara Wise, Amber Wright and Ellie Mckechnie.
Congratulations to Jayla Suey who was named in the Under 16 NSW Waratahs Northern Regional Academy U16 Girls Rugby Union team. This is an exciting new program that has not been offered before in NSW for this age group. This is another great achievement for Jayla.
Jayla Suey's induction was Saturday morning 28 October, into the Rabbitohs 2024 Lisa Fiaola Under 17’s Rugby League Team. She received her kit and had a tour of the amazing facilities at the Rabbitohs Centre including the gym and burrows. Congratulations on this outstanding effort.
Boys Rugby League
Well done to the under 14 and under 16 boys who on Wednesday 25 October competed in the Mental health footy day at Oxley High School. The under 14 team played first up and had a very close game against Oxley High School. They went down by one try in a very competitive contest. The under 16 boys played next and had a great win. Both games were very competitive and played in great spirit. Thank you to Damian Kenniff and Bernie Williams for their coaching and organisation.
Junior NSW CCC Basketball Championships
Three teams travelled to Sydney for the NSW CCC Junior Basketball Championships at Bankstown Basketball Stadium which was played 29-30 October. All teams played well in a very strong and competitive competition. The year 9/10 boys played extremely well to finish at the top of their pool only losing one game. Going into the quarter finals they were confident of winning and were ahead for most of the game before unluckily going down by 2 points. The year 7/8 girls and boys each won a match and were and played some very close games. All the players should be proud of their efforts. A big thank you to Katie Ezbery, Amy Gambrill, Brad Ralston and senior students Sam Morris, Phoenix Souter and Gabby Higgins in their coaching/training and support of our students. The teams included the following students.
Year 7/8 Girls | Year 7/8 Boys | Year 9/10 Boys |

Well done to the Girls under 16 League Tag team who played at the Plain Street playing fields Tamworth defeated Oxley 17-4, Inverell 17-0, Glen Innes 15-4 before going down 13-0 to Aberdeen in the final. Thank you to Tanya Laird for the coaching and organisation.
Diocesan Boys Cricket
On Thursday 7 December the last sporting event of the year was held at Donnelly Fields Gunnedah. It was the boys Diocesan cricket game which was a 20 over a side game against St Mary’s College Gunnedah. The boys did well to restrict St Mary’s to 112 of 20 overs. In reply, unfortunately some good bowling from St Mary’s meant that we lost wickets at regular intervals and we were bowled out for 75 runs. It was a good game played in the right spirit in hot conditions. A big thank you to Mr Damian Kenniff who drove the bus out and coached the boys.
