Our Year 11 Geography Students completed their Tourism fieldwork studies in Melbourne.

They had the opportunity collect data at Melbourne’s famous sports facilities such as the MCG, Rod Laver Arena and Melbourne’s newest addition – Centrepiece.  They also visited Federation Square and Melbourne Central to find out more about the characteristics of tourism in Melbourne.

Despite the rain, students had a great time – especially on the swings!

SMR | Athletics Carnival

Thursday 5 October saw 60 students represent Frankston High School on a rather chilly, but dry, SMR Athletics Carnival.  Students represented the school with great pride and endeavour, coming away with many placings on the day.  We won the male and female champions, and most significantly, overall SMR Champions with 681 points, our nearest rival scoring only 352 points!

Congratulations to the 38 students that went on to represent our school at the State Championships on Monday 16 October.

STATE | Athletics Championships

On Monday 16 October, 38 of our students competed at the State Athletics Championships.  Although the conditions were trying, the students performed outstandingly well, with many personal bests achieved.  Overall, we finished 2nd on the day, taking home the Runner-Up State Champions flag.

Special mention also goes to Declyn Tanner (Year 11) who took home the Tamsyn Lewis Award for the best adjudged 800m runner; and Marcus La Fontaine Pollard (Year 11), who took home the Peter Norman Award for the best 200m runner!

A big thank you to Mal Burt for your outstanding coaching throughout the year and on the day.
