AROUND OUR SCHOOL

YEAR 11 VM | Blessing Bags Workshop

On Tuesday 10 October, our Year 11 VM students completed a poignant incursion with ‘Blessing Bags’. ‘Blessing Bags’ is a Melbourne-based initiative that assembles and distributes hygiene packs to those facing homelessness and disadvantage on the Mornington Peninsula. These packs include essential personal care items and heartfelt handwritten notes of hope.

During the incursion, our students participated in a workshop to gain insights into the challenges faced by our local community's vulnerable populations. They proactively assembled care packages that will be distributed locally, making a direct impact on the lives of individuals in need.

These students showcased remarkable leadership, empathy, and kindness. They are committed to continuing their support for ‘Blessing Bags’ and raising awareness within our school community. Stay tuned for ways you can join our Year 11 VM students in helping those experiencing homelessness on the Mornington Peninsula, as we work together to create a more compassionate community.

At Frankston High School, we believe in the power of community and giving back!

We are calling on the generosity of our school community to contribute the following essential items: Toothpaste, Toothbrushes, Deodorant, Soap (individually wrapped), Shower Gel, Shampoo, Conditioner, Tissues & Facial Wipes, Muesli Bars.
These are items we often take for granted, but they can provide comfort and dignity to someone in crisis.
If you would like to contribute, there are donation boxes at the front office on both the 7-10 and Senior Campuses.  Your donations can make a world of difference to those in need.

BOOK CLUB | Fully BOOKed

Our Frankston High School Book Club for students has been meeting regularly and steadily growing all year.  Our aim was to create a platform where they can share book recommendations and a few other things.  It is finally ready to share.  Please take a little time to have a look through using either of the links.

It has some recommendations for all ages, and if anyone from our Frankston High School community would like to contribute, please email Mrs Emily Johnson on ejohnson@fhs.vic.edu.au and we will organise a new post to add.

Happy reading! 😊

SEMPER | Netball

Semper Netball began this term, on the synthetic courts, now the weather has improved.  These sessions are open to everyone but also serve as training for the school teams competing in the Domestic League.

The Spring season of Frankston League Netball has kicked off, with eight new teams competing for Frankston High School in two divisions.  At last, we are in the new stadium at Jubilee Park and are looking forward to our best season yet!

We are also introducing our first official mixed squad of Year 7 and 8 players – good luck to all our teams.
