Celebrating the Class of 2023

Dear Senior School Parents/Carers and Students

As we bid adieu to the Class of 2023, we want to take a moment to congratulate our remarkable Year 12 students for completing their formal Year 12 classes.  Their journey through Frankston High School has been marked by integrity, respect, empathy, optimism, and persistence.  We are immensely proud of their achievements and the way they have conducted themselves throughout their time here.

Students studying a Unit 3/4 subject are to be recognised for their outstanding participation and behaviour during the Year 12 September Practice Examinations.  I would like to thank our Year 12 staff who put in extra time over their holiday period to ensure students had timely exam feedback to help them best prepare for their end of year examinations.  Thank you also to the exam supervisor team led by Suzanne Caldwell who ensured these practice examinations ran smoothly.

The atmosphere on the Senior Campus during the final week of Year 12 classes was impressive.  The Class of 2023 finished their last week with a special Year 12 Final Assembly.  The event was attended by our Year 7 students, Year 11 students, and many of our dedicated staff members who have played a pivotal role in supporting the success of the Class of 2023.

At the assembly, Mr Andrew Batchelor, our Principal, congratulated the students for upholding the school's values during their time at Frankston High School.  He wished them all the best for their future endeavors and encouraged them to carry forward the values of integrity, respect, empathy, optimism, responsibility and persistence.

Our 2023 School Captains each took the stage to impart their wisdom.  They encouraged the Year 7 cohort to savour their time at school and make the most of every opportunity.  They wished the Year 11 students good luck as they step into the leadership role at the school, acknowledged their Year 12 cohort for the memories and great experiences, and expressed deep gratitude and appreciation to their teachers for their unwavering support.

The festivities continued on Friday 13 October which marked the Year 12 students' last day of formal classes.  Students celebrated with their Year 12 teachers while embracing the theme of PJ day.

Monday, October 16th, was a day to remember as Year 12 students and school staff came together to celebrate "Celebration Day." They enjoyed a pancake breakfast, and students were dazzling in their costumes, following the theme of 'character in the first letter of your first name.' The day was filled with laughter, camaraderie, and heartfelt memories as students watched a special video prepared by our school captains and opened their Year 7 time capsules. It truly was a wonderful day of celebration.

It was wonderful to see students studying a Unit 3/4 study participate in the Frankston High School Year 12 Revision Program run during the third week of Term 4. Once again, our dedicated Year 12 staff must be thanked for their willingness to go above and beyond to ensure our students have every chance to reach their person goals.

My deep gratitude and appreciation go to the Senior Team, in particular Ms Kelly Mitchell, Ms Carla Caminiti, Mr Ryan Jones, Ms Brittney Harvey, Mrs Sharon Bourne, Ms Claudia Tymms, Mrs Mel Donegan, Mrs Tina Thomas and Mrs Carolyn Mciver. They have worked closely with our Year 12 cohort to support them throughout 2023 encouraging students to strive for their goals. Thank you for your care, commitment to our students and hard work.

As our Year 12 VCE students prepare for their end of year VCAA examinations, and our VCE VM cohort commences apprenticeships and further studies in preparation for their future vocations, we want to wish them all the best. We are confident that their dedication and hard work will lead to success.

Congratulations to our students studying a Unit 3/4 who have already completed their oral language and performance examinations. We encourage students to embrace our school motto, Optima Semper: Best Always, as they prepare for their VCAA written examinations, which commenced with English and the EAL exam on Tuesday 24 October. Students are reminded to carefully read through information provided on Compass (VCAA Exam Navigator Guide and seat allocations) to ensure they are well prepared.

We also want to wish our Year 11 students good luck as they prepare for their end of year examinations, commencing on Monday 13 November and continuing until Thursday  23 November.

As part of Early Commencement Program, formal Year 12 2024 classes will commence on Monday 27 November and continue until Friday 1 December.  Students will begin engaging with important Year 12 skills and knowledge in preparation for their final year of secondary studies.

Lastly, we wish our Year 11 VCE VM cohort all the best for their final Year 11 round of work placement, which will take place from Monday 13 November until Friday 24 November.

Once again, congratulations to the Class of 2023.  Your journey at Frankston High School may be coming to an end, but your future is bright, and we cannot wait to see the incredible paths you will each carve for yourselves.  We look forward to celebrating your achievements and contributions to Frankston High School at the Valedictory.
