The Spirit of Australia Foundation – Monash Commemorative Service

Highvale Secondary College was once again privileged to be invited to attend a commemorative service honouring General Sir John Monash.

The service was held in the Legislative Assembly Chamber at Parliament House on Friday, 7 August. Seven of our current and emerging student leaders proudly represented Highvale Secondary College at this special event.

Throughout the service, our students listened to inspiring guest speakers who spoke about leadership, resilience, achieving your goals, and striving to become the best version of yourself.

Following the service, surrounded by the impressive architecture of Parliament House, our students had the opportunity to speak with guest speakers, key personnel from the Spirit of Australia Foundation, and student leaders from other schools. It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to build connections, share experiences and further develop their leadership skills.

It was a very enjoyable and memorable day, and I would like to congratulate our students — Will M, Krish L, Calista D, Alyssa C, Hayley T, Athan B and Alexia B — on the way they conducted themselves throughout the event. They represented Highvale Secondary College exceptionally well, interacting with fellow students and dignitaries in such a friendly, respectful and mature manner.

We are incredibly proud of the way they represented our school and look forward to seeing them continue to grow as young leaders.
