Highvale House Athletics Carnival

On Tuesday the 28th of July, the 49th edition of the House Athletics Carnival was held at the Bill Sewart Athletics Track. The weather was extremely windy, but sunny. A strong tail wind down the main straight allowed for some lightning-fast times for our sprinters!

The students were active, happy and engaged and together created such a friendly and fun vibe. It was a fantastic day with some amazing performances on the track and field. The competition was fierce and produced some outstanding results. We had high participation across all year levels and witnessed some amazing individual performances. Special mention to many of our year 12s who dressed up in some fascinating costumes.

Congratulations to Bunjil House who won the day!

The final results were:

1st Bunjil 1361 points

2nd Kaan 1070 points

3rd Marrum 977 points

4th Burrimul 969 points

Our Junior Champions were: Sayeshke W. and Jazel O.

Our Senior Champions were: Stella M. and Syrus O.

These students were selected as the champions, based on the total number of points they scored from winning and placing in events they competed in.

Congratulations to all participants and thank you to all who made the day successful. We couldn't have run the day without the support of all attending staff, who ran events, supervised grandstands and showed enthusiasm to our students.

Students who placed in the top 2 for each event will qualify for the Division Athletics event, to be held on the 21st of August, at Knox Athletics Track. These students and parents have already been notified, and they are expected to make themselves available to attend and compete. Highvale values its participation in interschool sport, and we want to see all athletes attend and bring a full team!
