Arii's Days

Hi everyone! How are you? I caught a cold last week and had to stay home from school. It was my first cold since I came to Australia, so I was feeling a little tired and unwell. I’m getting better now. This time, I would like to share four things that have happened recently.

Book Week 19/8

How was your Book Week? I really enjoyed it! It was my first time experiencing Book Week because we don’t have an event like this in Japan. It was very new and exciting for me. Some of the specialist teachers invited me to join them, so I dressed up as Michael from Matilda. It was so much fun to see everyone wearing costumes and showing their favourite characters. I saw lots of Harry Potters, dinosaurs, and many other characters! I really enjoyed finding out what books everyone likes. It also made me want to read more different kinds of books!

My Mother Came to Visit Me from Japan!

My mother came all the way from Japan to Melbourne to visit me! She stayed for only three days. When I tell people this, they often say, “Only three days? That’s so Japanese!” We joined a Great Ocean Road tour together. Luckily, the weather was beautiful, and we could see the blue sky and the beautiful ocean. I was also happy to introduce some Australian food to her, such as fish and chips and meat pies. On her last day, I introduced her to my host families. I was very happy that she could meet the wonderful people who have been looking after me in Australia. We had such a lovely time together.

Thank you for reading!
