Student Achievements

Kalinda Kids shine!

Every day Kalinda kids are achieving great things in their classroom and yard, but we know that outside of school, they are often kicking lots of goals as well (literally and figuratively)! Celebrating the growth of 'the whole child' is something we treasure.

If your student has an achievement that you would like to share please send to Mrs. Hopkins so that we can celebrate them in the newsletter! Whether it is a sporting achievement, Karate grade, Cub badge, community service or amazing new skill - we want to share it with our community.

I can't wait to hear about your achievements and share them with our community!

Josh swims his way to glory!

Submitted by proud mum Jo

On Sunday August 23, Josh G from 34JD competed in a 1km swim challenge at Paul Sadler Swimland in Ringwood. The swim students were aged between 8 and 12 years old. It was his first time in a timed swim challenge, & his first time swimming 1km! That's 40 laps of the 25m pool. In regular swim classes, the students only swim 500m for their long distance training. A big congratulations go to all the kids that swam the 1km challenge, wasn't easy! This was an epic swim for Josh, but boy did he shine. Josh was a torpedo in the water, overtaking the other swimmers in his lane. He was the 3rd swimmer to finish the 1km swim. With the 1st & 2nd position swimmers being 12 years old (3 years older & taller than him). We are incredibly proud of Josh for pushing through his nerves on the event day, & having the determination to swim & give it his best. He achieved a new personal best of 26 min 53 sec for his 1km swim. His instructor told us most swim students finish in 30-40min. He was an absolute fish in the water! Well done Josh!
