2027 Prep Information for families 

 Please let us know if your child is unable to attend any of the transition sessions.

These sessions are important to the student, family and teachers. We aim to make them an introduction to school. These should remain a positive experience.

Friday 13th November 

 Transition session one 9.20am - 10.45am 

Please speak to your child about what will happen at each session.

These sessions should be treated like kindergarten or creche - parents are not expected to wait or linger in the classroom or in the playgrounds where the children can see you. This can often cause the children to worry or expect there is something to be scared of. It can also be disruptive to other classes nearby.

We aim to create a positive and happy experience - even if it is different.

Parents will need to sign the children in and out.  

Kalinda Primary School will hold a parent information session at the same time the children are in the Prep grades.

For the grown-ups 

If you can stay for the parent information session, we would love to see you!

In this first session, parents will meet the Kalinda Leadership team.

We will also have Melissa L, who runs Eddie's Bibs and Patch. She has many items for sale that can be useful for the prep students. You can view these items here

What happens in the first session?

9.20 - sign in and name tags - meet at the Foundation playground

9.30 - classroom activities - children to complete their starting school poster

10.10 - playtime and discovery in the classrooms - getting to know one another!

10.40 - story and goodbye song

10.45 - children dismissed from the classroom

What the students need to bring 

• named sun hat and drink bottle
• any medication (Asthma or allergy), named, in the original package

For Term 1, 2027, school will need - 

• Medication plans ( asthma, anaphylaxis, and allergy ) 
• In-date medication supplies ( if applicable )
• Notify the office of any address or phone number changes, including emergency contacts.
