Youth Advisory Groups

There is an exciting opportunity for young Victorians aged 16 to 24 years old to apply for Youth Advisory Groups. Applications for the 2026 positions are now open! 

The Australian Government Youth Advisory Groups give young people the ability to work closely with Commonwealth departments and agencies to provide advice and to take action on issues that matter to them. There are currently opportunities to join the:  

• First Nations Youth Advisory Group working with the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies to ensure First Nations voices are heard. 
• Mental Health Youth Advisory Group working with the National Mental Health Commission to support open discussions about mental health. 
• Sports Participation Youth Advisory Group working with the Australian Sports Commission to help make sport safer and more inclusive. 
• Countering Foreign Interference Youth Advisory Group working with the Department of Home Affairs to help young people tackle foreign interference. 

No experience is needed to apply. Applications close on Sunday 26 October 2025 at 11:59pm. For more information and for application forms, please visit the Office for Youth website or contact my office.
