Year 3/4 Report

Year 3/4 have been working on biographies this term in English. Here are some excerpts from the student’s autobiographies. We have also discussed our connection to certain places for our history unit – First Peoples, First Contact.

My Life

On a hot sunny day, I was born at the Craigieburn hospital.  I was meant to be born on the 24 of December 2015, but instead I came early and arrived on the 19 of December.

My older brother is twenty-two, his name is James.  My older sister is fourteen, her name is Chelsea. Then there’s my little brother Jesse, he is five and I am nine, and then there is mum too.

I love to play outside with my cousins on the trampoline. Everyday, when they come over, we always go to the Chittick Park and play basketball.

When I grow up, I want to work at McDonalds then I want to be a zookeeper. I will get a sausage dog and an orange cat.

One hot day my mum’s nurse said, “Come out little girl, do not be afraid!” at Kilmore Hospital at 3:30pm on the 24 January 2017. My mum was so happy for me to be in the world.

My family are the best people in my life. They are Georgia, Rob, Alexis, Darcy, Ryder and Mason.

My mum takes me to skating and she took me to Melton skate park.  It was the best!

My dad took me camping for the first time it was incredible.  We went deep in the forest, I was scared.  Then the second time I went with my brother and my dad and I wasn’t scared at all.

My biggest dream is going to the 2030 Olympics for skateboarding, and we can get money if I win.  My family will move to Queensland.

Mackenzie

I was born in Broadford 2016 January 28. When I was three, I went to Scotland and I was told that I had a little bit of royal blood.  I know how to speak Scottish. When I was four, I went to England.

Peyton

I was born on 8 September 2015 in Shepparton. I am growing up in Seymour with my little sister, Livina, my big sister, Lara and my big brother, Adam. I like to draw and run in races.  I hate ‘Steal a Brainrot’ or just ‘Brainrot’. In the future I hope to travel.

I love this place.  It is quiet and peaceful. In my backyard I hear birds at my dam.

The place I feel connected to is the river because I ride my bike there all the time on the weekend.

The beach is a calm place to be at.  It cools me.

Country

Written by Torah Lang 5/6A

Hello buk (mob), what can you see with your mirrings (eyes)? I see biik (Country) and baan (water). In Country, we use wiinj (fire) to clean up. Follow me along this badji Djinang (path) and I will show you the animals and the names we use for them. See over there? That’s a budja (platypus), if we head south, we might find some marrams (kangaroos). Listen with your wirring (ear), do you hear that? That sound comes from a waang (crow). Do you like to djila (play)? Oh, let’s go darraga (hunt).

Primary District

Congratulations to our primary students who competed in the District Athletics on Wednesday 10 September. It was great to see so many participate and collect ribbons. Good luck to those who have progressed to the Division Athletics.

Division Athletics – Shepparton

On Wednesday 17 September, we took 22 eager and energetic students to Shepparton to compete in the Division Athletics – and what a day it was! Our students gave it their all, displaying outstanding school spirit, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the entire event.

A massive congratulations to Logan, Iesha, Indi, Summer, and Niall, who have qualified for Regionals in term 4 – an incredible achievement and a testament to your hard work and talent!

A heartfelt thank you to our amazing marshals – Ms Jamison, Ms Caig, Sofia, and Rhiannon – for your time, support, and helping ensure the day ran smoothly.

We are incredibly proud of all our students who represented Seymour College with pride.

Go Seymour!
