PLC Blue Adventures !
Welcome to Term 4!
What a wonderful start to our final term of the year! Blue PLC has jumped straight back into learning with lots of enthusiasm and excitement. We have a busy and exciting term ahead, filled with hands-on learning, new experiences and plenty of special memories to make. Here is a little snapshot of what we have been getting up to!
English
This term, we have been enjoying our new mentor text, Wombats Can’t Sing! Students are exploring Australian native animals, discovering new vocabulary and building their reading and writing skills through Colourful Semantics. Each week, we bring the story to life with fun, hands-on activities, sensory experiences and creative crafts!
In phonics, we are continuing our Little Learners Love Literacy journey, learning letter sounds through songs, games and daily practice, while building our confidence with heart words.
Mathematics
In Maths, we are exploring Number and Statistics! Students are learning about sharing equally through fun activities such as feeding pretend animals and sharing counters between groups. We are also learning to sort objects, collect information about our favourite things and compare groups using more, less and the same. There has been lots of hands-on counting, sorting and problem-solving!
Health
Health this term is all about building independence and developing important everyday life skills! Students are practising personal care routines, including brushing their teeth, washing their hands and looking after their hygiene. We are also exploring social skills such as taking turns, sharing, greeting others and asking for help. Later in the term, we will take our learning outdoors with sensory play, movement and nature exploration!
Science
Our budding scientists have been busy exploring objects and materials! Students are investigating everyday items, sorting them by colour, size, shape and texture through fun, hands-on activities. Our mystery baskets have been a big part of our investigations, encouraging students to observe, explore and describe what they discover. We are also looking forward to experimenting with mixing different materials!
A Fantastic Start to Term 4
What a wonderful first few weeks we have had in PLC Blue! We are so proud of the enthusiasm, curiosity and effort our students bring to their learning each day. It has been lovely seeing their confidence and independence continue to grow, and we are looking forward to all the exciting learning experiences, celebrations and special moments still to come this term!
