From The Principal

It has been lovely to welcome everyone back for Term 4. We’re looking forward to sharing a special final term with our community, celebrating our students’ achievements and enjoying the events that celebrate our students.
Alongside all the activity in classrooms, we are preparing for 2027, beginning Semester 2 assessments and reports, and planning graduation and our end-of-year celebrations. There is plenty to look forward to!
Student-free days
A reminder that Monday 2nd November and Tuesday 3rd November are student-free days. Staff will use this time for report writing and training, including first aid, CPR and epilepsy, to keep their qualifications and skills current.
2026 PASS Awards
We’re very pleased to share that Chris Vine has been shortlisted for the Outstanding Specialist Teacher Award in this year’s PASS Awards. The Awards Dinner will be held next month in Melbourne and we’re looking forward to attending that event with Chris.
This is a fantastic recognition of the thought, effort and enthusiasm Chris brings to creating meaningful learning opportunities for our students in his Healthy Planet program. Congratulations, Chris!
DI Funding
I’m sure you’ve heard of the recent budget announcements that include changes to Disability Inclusion funding. We are still attending meetings and briefing sessions with the Department of Education to better understand what these changes mean for Hamlyn Views. While details are still being clarified, we are hopeful that careful planning will help us manage any changes and minimise the impact on our students and programs.
World Teachers’ Day
Today we’re celebrating World Teachers’ Day and letting our teachers know how much we appreciate them. They bring so much care, patience and creativity to their work, finding ways to help our students learn, grow and enjoy school. We see the effort they put in every day and how much each student’s progress means to them. We’re very lucky to have such a caring and committed team at Hamlyn Views.
