PE – Term Highlights

This term was full of fun, participation and fantastic achievements in PE and Sport! Basketball was a big focus, with all students enjoying the opportunity to develop their skills and play together. Students also explored a range of other sports inline with their personal preferences, where sports exploration was the main focus of learning.
Our Cricket Gala Day was also a great success, with all participants having a fantastic day and enjoying the opportunity to get involved. It was also great to see students and staff wearing the new HVS sports tops!
A huge congratulations to Thomas and Sarah who represented our school at Regional Athletics and went on to qualify for State Athletics! Competing in long jump, 100m, 200m and 800m sprints they achieved an incredible result, bringing home one gold medal and two bronze medals. We are very proud of their hard work and achievements!
Well done to all our students for their enthusiasm, participation and efforts throughout this term!
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander T-shirt design.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students at Hamlyn Views worked alongside our Koorie Education Support Officer's (KESO) to design a sport top. Students explored ways to incorporate meaningful symbols into their designs, including our school values, the You Yangs, the Barwon River, the sun and the moon.
Students brought their ideas to life through drawings, which were then used to create the finished sports tops. This project celebrated students’ creativity, cultural identity and connection to Country, while creating a unique design that reflects our school community.
Students have worn these tops with pride at recent sporting events.
