Hi, I’m Zavier and I’m very excited to tell you about all the amazing things happening at Glen Waverley Primary School!
First, we are starting off with our annual Cross Country! Our cross country was hosted last term and the top 15 students from each age group qualified for the district event, which was held this Tuesday. 90 children represented our school and I am very proud to report that 15 have now qualified for the Zone event – good luck everyone!
Next, we have a very exciting day next Wednesday… a day where you don't have to get ready before coming to school… PYJAMA DAY! Pyjama Day is where everyone can come to school in pyjamas instead of the normal uniform. This isn't all for fun, we are doing this to raise money for the Hearts Kids Foundation which is a fundraiser to support all the children and families with a heart disease. We do this by asking all students to bring a gold coin to school (1 dollar or 2 dollars) actually, you can bring whatever money you want!
Speaking of next week, I look forward to all of the mums and dads (and extended family) joining us for our Maths Open morning next Thursday from 9 to approx. 10am.
Lastly, the Year 6’s are currently competing in the Winter Interschool sports. I am loving it because I’m in soccer and I play soccer outside of school. It’s so much fun playing it with my friends as a team against other schools, it gives a competitive kick! Good luck to all of the teams playing this Friday!
Yes, school can be lots of fun, however, please keep your behaviour at its best and respect all peers and teachers all the time. Remember, always do your best both inside and outside the school, in learning or not, always do your best.
Thank you for reading my newsletter!
