YEAR 12 KEY INFORMATION: WEEK 5

I have had many conversations with students regarding their stress levels due to the amount of assessment they are currently completing. I have also had several teachers approach me with concerns that very few Year 12 students are seeking support in class, with many also not submitting drafts. It is imperative that students communicate with their teachers to help reduce stress and maximise their chances of success.

There have also been several recent incidents that have raised concerns about safe driving on College grounds. If students endanger our community by driving irresponsibly, they will lose the privilege of accessing parking on College grounds. I appreciate your support in reinforcing this message at home.

Non-State Schools Transport Assistance Scheme (NSSTAS)

Applications for Semester 1, 2026 of the Non-State Schools Transport Assistance Scheme (NSSTAS) will open from 1 – 31 May.

The scheme provides financial assistance to families transporting students to non-state schools in Queensland through two programs:

Bus Fare Assistance - Supports families who pay more than the weekly threshold in bus or ferry fares.
Students with Disability - Assists students with a disability who have demonstrably different transport needs from other students of the same age.
