YEAR 9
Growing Together

Head of Year 9
It has been a wonderful week at Tinaroo Outdoor Education with our Year 9 students. Over the three days of each camp, students participated in a variety of activities that challenged their teamwork, confidence, communication, and empathy, among other skills. Students engaged in team challenges, high-ropes activities, raft building, kayaking, and orienteering in their groups, which helped them build and strengthen relationships within their cohort.
We hope that students take time over the weekend to relax and recharge for the beginning of Week 5. I look forward to sharing some photos from the two camps in our College bulletin over the next few weeks.
I was most proud to see a large number of Year 9 students volunteering to serve the community in the role of Usher for our College Open Night in Week 5. This is such a positive opportunity for our young people to develop their confidence and leadership skills, and to promote our wonderful College to prospective families - who better to hear from about how great our College is than from our wonderful Year 9s! A reminder that if your child did not attend the mandatory training last Thursday, they must attend training on Tuesday in M1/2 from 3:15 pm - 4:15 pm. This opportunity will also provide experience for future leadership opportunities moving into the senior school at the end of this year.
