General Information & Reminders

Show and Share: Term 3 will be related to our inquiry on Where Does Our Food Come From And How Do We Grow It? It will commence in Week 3 and we will send out an overview with details of the Show and Share program via Compass outlining the focus and to give students time to prepare for the weeks ahead. Your child will be given an allocated day for their Show and Share.
Library: Please ensure your child brings their library books to school on their allocated library day each week. If you are unsure which day this is, please check with your child's teacher. Bringing books on library day allows students to enjoy the excitement of borrowing new books with their classmates. Please note that students with overdue library books will need to return them before they are able to borrow new books.
Reading: Reading is a key focus in Foundation and provides the foundation for success across all areas of the curriculum. It is important that your child reads their take-home books each evening and returns them to school in their Red Book Bag every day for ongoing reading practice. Take-home books will continue to be changed once a week, and you will also notice additional decoding practice being added to your child's Home Learning book.
The decoding practice provides a wonderful opportunity to spend quality time reading with your child while celebrating the phonics knowledge they are developing in the classroom. Students will also continue to bring home Memory Words to practise, helping to build their confidence, fluency and automatic recognition of high-frequency words.
Parent Helpers: We look forward to having you help in the classroom this term. Parent helpers will commence in Week 4. Rosters will be posted on Compass. You need to have a Working with Children Check and to have completed the Parent Helper's Course.
