Congratulations to Luca on National Selection
We are thrilled to announce that Luca has earned the prestigious honour of being selected as one of just fourteen under-19 athletes to represent Australia at the 2026 UCI Junior Track World Championships in Belgium.
As part of the ARA Australian Cycling Team, Luca will be competing at the renowned Heusden-Zolder Velodrome in Limburg from August 19–23. This event brings together the world’s best junior track cyclists born in 2008 and 2009, and Luca will be racing against international athletes at the very highest level.
This is an extraordinary achievement, a testament to Luca’s hard work, relentless dedication, and unwavering commitment to excellence. Everyone at our school is incredibly proud of Luca’s selection and the effort that has led to such recognition.
We wish Luca all the very best as he takes on this exciting challenge, representing both our school and Australia on the world stage.
SACE Stage One Outdoor Education Adventure
Our SACE Stage One Outdoor Education students recently put their skills to the test during a memorable bushwalking expedition in the Southern Flinders Ranges.
Students were responsible for planning menus and cooking on trangias, setting up tents, packing rucksacks, navigating with maps, and rotating leadership duties as they explored the spectacular landscapes.
Highlights of the journey included walking through Telowie Gorge, where the impressive orange cliffs offered much-needed shade, camping at Mambray Creek, and hiking the Davey Gully ring route with breathtaking views over Spencer Gulf.
The group also completed an 18km trek through Hidden Gorge before ascending to the top of the Battery, where they enjoyed incredible panoramas of the Southern Flinders.
On the final day, students packed up camp and explored Wirrabara Forest, giving everyone the opportunity to walk independently and experience a different environment.
Congratulations to all students for their perseverance, teamwork, and positive attitude throughout this adventure. Your effort, organisation, and support for one another ensured a rewarding experience for everyone involved.

SACE Stage One Outdoor Education Aquatics Camp
On Wednesday May 6 the year eleven outdoor education class travelled to the Yorke Peninsula for our three-day aquatics camp. On day one we set up camp at Corny Point caravan park, then headed to Berry Bay.
The waves were large and the tide was high, so we enjoyed boogie boarding in the shore break.
Waking up early Thursday morning we headed down to Berry Bay and with the lower tide, we enjoyed learning to surf, the students had success catching waves and most were able to stand up and ride them to shore.
After lunch, we packed up camp and headed over to Pt Vincent. Setting up camp was very efficient and we were back out on the water in the afternoon for sailing and kayaking. Everyone was hungry after a day’s aquatics activities and enjoyed their meals that students prepared.
The winds were light Friday morning and just right for stand-up paddle boarding and knee boarding. We learnt aquatic skills and safety, camp craft, how to live and collaborate positively with each other and the health benefits of spending time in nature.

Outstanding Achievement at Individual Cycling Championship
Congratulations to Regan P, who participated in the recent Individual Cycling Championship event in C Grade and emerged as the overall winner.
This is an exceptional effort, especially as it was Regan’s first actual bike race. Well done, Regan.
Netball News
Our sporting calendar for term 2 began with great excitement as Aberfoyle Park High School students participated in the annual Netball Carnival, held at the newly renovated courts at Netball SA in Mile End.
Netball continues to grow at our school, and this year we were proud to field five teams, with both boys and girls representing all year levels. Each team played with outstanding sportsmanship and energy, with most teams losing only one or two matches throughout the day.
The year 7 to 9 boys team impressed everyone with their high-quality skills, narrowly missing out on the top spot after just one loss to the team that placed first. This excellent performance earned them a well-deserved second place overall.
Our year 7 to 8 girls team and year 11 to 12 girls team also placed second in their respective pools, showing exceptional determination. The year 7 to 8 girls narrowly missed first place through a countback, finishing just two goals short—an incredibly close result.
A special congratulations goes to our year 9 to 10 girls team, who emerged as winners of their pool. Their achievement was a testament to their teamwork and collaboration throughout the day, an outstanding effort by all involved.
We would also like to thank our dedicated student umpires, who officiated games all day or when they were not playing. Your contributions were invaluable and greatly appreciated by all teams.
Congratulations to every student involved for their commitment, skill, and positive representation of Aberfoyle Park High School. We look forward to continued success in sport throughout the term.

Year 9 to 10 Volleyball Carnival
On Tuesday 5 May, Aberfoyle Park High School proudly took six enthusiastic teams, three boys teams and three girls teams, to Reynella East College to participate in a highly competitive year 9 to 10 Volleyball Day Carnival.
Our students faced a range of strong schools, including matches against the talented Reynella East Volleyball Academy players.
Despite not finishing at the top of our pools, every Aberfoyle Park High School team played with outstanding competitiveness and determination. The skill and teamwork displayed across the day were a testament to our students’ dedication to improving and supporting each other.
Our players demonstrated remarkable resilience in the face of tough matches, never losing their positive attitude or commitment to doing their best. Their behaviour on and off the court was exemplary, earning them respect from coaches, referees, and peers alike.
Most importantly, the carnival was an opportunity for our students to represent the school with pride, showing genuine sportsmanship, encouragement, and care for each other—the true hallmarks of amazing Aberfoyle Park High School students.
