Middle School Wellbeing Focus
Our Middle School has maintained a strong focus on student wellbeing this term, with a range of activities designed to build a sense of belonging and strengthen our school community. Each year level has taken part in morning assemblies, providing a regular opportunity for students to connect and start the day in a positive way.
Year 9 students have been involved in a series of Care group challenges, including designing a group mascot, creating a class poster for Harmony Day and taking responsibility for an indoor plant. These activities have encouraged teamwork, creativity, and a shared sense of responsibility.
Year 8 students have been involved in a kindness challenge where students performed acts of kindness to each other which aimed to build respect, care and compassion as part of our school values. There were planking challenges and a tunnel ball challenge focusing on teamwork and communication skills.
Year 7 students have been involved in activities based around getting to know their teachers, and other classmates and creating strong routines. The focus has been on each student settling into the school and finding their place.
It has been pleasing to see students engaging with these opportunities and contributing to a positive and supportive Middle School environment.

Open Night Success at Aberfoyle Park High School
We are delighted to report that our Open Night, held on Tuesday, 31 March, was a tremendous success.
The evening was filled with energy, engaging activities, and a strong sense of community as families explored the diverse curriculum areas offered at our school.
There truly was something for everyone, science demonstrations, hands-on creative arts, sporting challenges, and technology showcases were all featured. A special highlight was the HASS polling booth, which invited visitors to vote for their favourite stall. It was wonderful to see such enthusiasm and participation from our guests.
We extend our thanks to all staff and students who contributed to the event, as well as to the families who attended and helped make the night so vibrant.
If you were unable to attend this Open Night, or would like another opportunity to visit our school, we encourage you to register for a Principal’s Tour or find more information about transitioning to high school on our website: aphs.sa.edu.au/transition/
Thank you once again for supporting Aberfoyle Park High School. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Cognitive and Sensory activities enhancing year 7 wellbeing
At Aberfoyle Park High School, our year 7 students have been actively engaging in a range of cognitive and sensory activities during their care group morning circle and throughout lessons as brain breaks.
These thoughtfully designed activities aim to support student wellbeing, foster positive connections, and provide opportunities for students to refocus during busy school days.
Staff have reported noticeable increases in student engagement and enthusiasm as a result of these sessions. Many students have voiced their appreciation for the chance to reset and energise their minds, highlighting the positive impact these activities have had on their learning and social experiences. It is great to see these initiatives contributing to a supportive and vibrant learning environment at Aberfoyle Park High School.
Aberfoyle Park High School – Open Night Stall Winner
One of our year 8 classes took part in the democratic process by counting votes from our recent Open Night, under the guidance of our HASS Leader, Chris Jones.
Students gained valuable hands-on experience in ballot counting, majority voting, and preference voting—applying these concepts in a practical setting.
After a close contest between the Drama, Dance, and Music Stop 4 stalls, the STEM and Maths Curriculum stall emerged as the overall winner.
The stall impressed families with captivating experiments, engaging games, and interactive learning experiences.
Congratulations to everyone who participated and contributed to the success of Open Night.
Special congratulations to Milla G, who was selected as the winner of the participation ballot.
Milla will receive a $50 voucher from Devon Clothing to assist with purchasing uniform items, as well as a $50 Rebel Sports voucher to use towards new shoes or sports items for school.
