Wishing Tree Thankyou

A huge THANK YOU to the Malvern Primary Community for their incredible support of the CHRISTMAS WISHING TREE. It would not be possible without your amazing generosity! Together with other local schools we provided 287 individual gifts for children in need and their families, as well as to Santa’s toy shop. I’ve included some notes below from those on the front line:
Youth services worker
“The people who come into the Uniting Xmas Toyshop and Wishing Tree are a mixed bunch from a 18 year old single mother sleeping in her car to a 80 year Grandmother who looks after her grandchild. They all come in looking to provide some joy at Xmas for their children who have had a hard life. In most cases the smiles on the faces mixed with a few tears when they leave shows how we have done a little to make their lives better and bring some excitement to Xmas. I treasure my time in the Toyshop since I feel I am making a difference in the right way.”

I have received very positive feedback from families on receiving and choosing the gifts from the Uniting Christmas Wishing Tree. One story from a mum with 4 children. The mum has rung me yesterday - thanking for all of the wonderful toys received. Mum saying “ my children will be so happy “ thank you so much from my family “This family very grateful for the gifts as would not have been able to afford otherwise. - “daughter asked for a guitar - “the present is a guitar “-as daughter will be very happy as she would like to join the music group at school.” “Son who has autism loves music - had requested a piano - “ he got a piano “ “he loves music “.Mum sent a photo of the gifts placed under the Christmas tree .

“For many years, Uniting, together with our dedicated volunteers, has supported individuals and families from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds and those experiencing financial hardship—especially during the Christmas season. Your generosity creates a profound impact. For our clients, it means full tables, thoughtful presents, and the joy and wonder that make Christmas feel truly special. For our volunteers, your kindness is deeply moving—it inspires them, strengthens their commitment, and reminds them of the power of community and compassion. Your support brings hope, dignity, and festive magic to families, and it uplifts everyone involved in delivering this care. From all of us at Uniting, thank you for sharing the true spirit of Christmas and making such a meaningful difference. Your generosity means so much to our clients, our volunteers, and everyone at Uniting, and we would love to express our appreciation. With our warmest thanks and gratitude,Uniting and our volunteers”
