Captains Corner

Student Representative Council

We are the Year 7 and 8 Student Representative Council. Our names are Mookie, Nevaeh, Denzel and Armarni.

We meet with our school captains every second week to talk about improvements we can make to our school. We’ve put together a constitution and bring suggestions from our classmates to these meetings for the staff to discuss.

We also work with teachers to create our school wide positive behaviour matrix, and we share our ideas about what we want to learn.

A couple of weeks ago, we went on an excursion to the Leadership Summit with the school captains. One of the speakers, Lucy, shared how she created an app called “Her Help” to support young girls and remind them they’re not alone in the challenges they face. “It sounded like a great app and I was inspired,” Mookie.

“I loved hearing the speeches and meeting famous people and other student leaders from different schools. I enjoy the trips we get to go on.” Nevaeh

“I enjoyed meeting other students who are in leadership at different schools.” Mookie
