Feast of Pentecost

On Sunday we celebrated the feast of Pentecost, the most important feast of the Catholic Church, following Easter and Christmas. It commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles and other followers of Jesus Christ.

The outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost marked the beginning of the Christian Church's mission to spread the Gospel throughout the world and is often referred to as the birthday of the Church. It empowered the apostles to preach boldly and with conviction, regardless of the obstacles they faced.

Pentecost serves as a reminder of the ongoing presence and work of the Holy Spirit in the Church and in the lives of believers today. It's a time to celebrate the diversity of spiritual gifts bestowed upon us and to recommit ourselves to living lives of faith, love, and service.

Paint and Sip

What a fun night was had by the women of our community who joined 170 others at St Vincent's College on Friday night for the Ashfield Olympic Park network of schools Paint and Sip night. Many thanks too to the parents who volunteered to help create the gift packs that each participant received on the night.

Rosary

It has been a delight to see many children answer the call to pray a decade of the rosary before school on Wednesday mornings.

All are welcome to join us from 8:30 on Wednesday mornings. Rosary beads and how to pray cards are provided. We meet  near the side entrance to the church. If you have a specific intention you would like us to pray for, please email me on ana.seric@syd.catholic.edu.au

Our Adult Rosary group  continues on Mondays before pick up. We meet in the Church from 2:30. All parents and carers are invited to join us, even if you have never prayed this prayer before. Rosary beads and how to pray cards are provided. Secure your parking spot and take up this opportunity to pray for your family and our community, to calm your soul before the afternoon rush!

Upcoming Family and Faith Events and Initiatives:

Coffee Connect

Starting kindergarten is an exciting milestone for children and families alike, and this informal gathering is a wonderful opportunity to meet other parents, build connections within our school community and chat with the principal in a relaxed setting.

Whether you are new to our community, or already a part of our community, we would love to see you there. Feel free to come along for a coffee, conversation, and a chance to ask questions or simply get to know one another.

We are grateful for the partnership we share with our families and look forward to strengthening these connections as we journey together in faith and learning through your child’s primary school years.

Thank you to the parents who have expressed their interest for the Kindy parent Coffee and Connect. If you are able to join us from 9:30am on this coming Wednesday June 3 at Strathfield Park cafe, please email ana.seric@syd.catholic.edu.au
