Congratulations to Our SAPSASA Soccer Representatives!

We are incredibly proud of our talented students who represented our school at the recent Airport SAPSASA Soccer Carnival.

The Girls’ Airport SAPSASA Team were unstoppable, going undefeated across all 8 games to become Carnival Champions! They won every match without a single loss and remarkably finished the carnival without conceding a single goal, an outstanding achievement! Well done and congratulations to Acacia on her excellent performance throughout the competition, we know that she would have represented our school the right way, and we are all incredibly proud of her.

The Boys’ Team also had an amazing tournament, finishing equal top with the Western team after a series of strong performances on the pitch. Congratulations to Rio, Nathanael, Steffen and Mark on representing the school and on their excellent performances across the tournament.

Student Insights

On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, the 6th, 7th and 8th of August we (Steffen, Rio, Mark, Acacia and Nathanael) competed in the SAPSASA Soccer competition representing the Airport district. On the first day, they met up at Gepps Cross, Service FM Stadium. The boys' team began by warming up to prepare for our first game against River Torrens, while the girls watched and cheered on the boys from the sideline. Unfortunately, the first game was tough and they lost 4-1. At halftime, it was the girls' turn to start warming up in the five-a-side mini courts. After warming up and training, the girls played against the Playford district. Fortunately,y the girls played really well and won 12-0. Following this, the girls had another break and were able to watch the boys play Western District, where they won 1-0. After this, the girls played their second game against South Districts and ended up winning 1-0.

On the second day, the boys' first game was against East Adelaide, where they drew 1-1. Following this, we played against Western District and won 1-0. The boys then faced North East Adelaide, which was a tough match. At halftime, they were down 2-1, and amazingly, they came back to win the game 4-2, showing great resilience and persistence. The girls’ first game was against Salisbury, where they won 5-0. For their last game of the day, the girls faced River Torrens, winning 6-0.

On the third day, the boys had to vs Southern Heights. They were a strong team, but they won that game 4-0. Then the girls played Port, which was a very tough game, and won 1-0. They had really good players, but luckily, they won. Then the boys played South East Adelaide, and they won 1-0. They were really happy at the end and played their very last game.  This was also a tough game; luckily, they ended up winning 1-0 against a very strong team.

A funny moment during the tournament was when one of the boys’ teammates kicked Rio’s ball over the fence to the lake during practice. Another highlight was when the boys won the tournament, but the coach thought that they had lost and then found out that they WON!!!

Overall, the boys are very proud to draw with Western District in first place, making them the champions of SAPSASA, which means both teams end up getting a gold medal. The girls' team won every game, not conceding a single goal (thanks to their amazing goal keeper, AKA Acacia)  and ended up winning the whole tournament for the girls.

Congratulations to all students who participated, and a big thank you to the parents who supported on the day.

We are very lucky to have SAPSASA goal medal royalty at LNPS!

Congratulations!!!!!
