Cupcakes for Courage Fundraiser a Sell Out Success!
Ms Kami Gillick-Lewis
The VCE VM Year 11 Literacy class hosted a ‘Cupcakes for Courage’ fundraiser on the 21st of October. The event was a sell out success as VM students worked hard to prepare a ‘build your own cupcake’ stall raising funds for The Mancave Charity.
As part of their Literacy and Personal Development Skills programs VM students were required to develop their own marketing material including flyers, posters and public announcements to students across all year levels. VM students were also required to collaborate and cook vanilla cupcakes in small teams immersing themselves in applied learning linked to a social issue.
With the event inviting students to come free dress for a gold coin donation or pay $2.50 to build your own Halloween themed cupcake the VM students managed to raise close to $500.00 in 2 hours.
The VM students would like to thank the school community for supporting the cause and also Food Technology teacher Heather Dear for aiding in the success of the event. VM students are credited for their hard work and passion around supporting such an important cause.
Well done guys, what a great demonstration of community cohesion!
