Division Athletics

Congratulations to the 20 SJV students who qualified to compete at the Monash Waverley Division Athletics event! Our students represented SJV with pride, demonstrating fantastic teamwork, determination and sportsmanship throughout the day.

The competition was tough, with many talented athletes competing across a range of track and field events. Our students rose to the challenge, with many finishing in the top 10 of their respective events. It was wonderful to see students encouraging and supporting one another along the way.  Our 2 4x 100m relay teams showcased this - both finishing 4th in their age groups.  Well done to everyone for being such great representatives of SJV!

A special congratulations goes to Mason, who had an outstanding day in the 10-year-old boys' events! Mason claimed 1st place in discus with an incredible throw of 36.01 metres, winning the event by a massive 11 metres! He also finished 2nd in the 800m.

These fantastic results mean Mason has qualified for the Eastern Metro Region Athletics event, where he will proudly represent SJV once again.

Other notable results were: Heston - 5th long jump, Hayden T - 6th discus, Penny 7th long jump and Hayley 8th triple jump.  

Well done to all 20 athletes for their hard work, commitment and team spirit.  We are incredibly proud of the way our students represented SJV and wish Mason all the best at the next level of competition!
