OUTDOOR EDUCATION

DAMPER COOKING

Year 9 KSC Outdoor Education students put their campfire cooking skills to the test today as they learned the art of making traditional stick damper over an open fire.

Students carefully measured and mixed their ingredients before shaping their dough and wrapping it around sticks ready for cooking over hot coals. Patience and teamwork were key as they rotated their dampers over the fire, ensuring they cooked evenly to create a delicious golden finish.

The activity provided a hands-on opportunity for students to develop practical outdoor living skills while gaining an appreciation for traditional campfire cooking methods. Despite a little smoke along the way, there were plenty of smiles as students enjoyed tasting their freshly baked damper and celebrating their success.

A big thank you to our Maintenance Manager, Dawso, for preparing the campfire and ensuring we had a bed of hot coals ready for the lesson. His support helped make this authentic Outdoor Education experience possible.

CAMPFIRE S'MORES

What’s better than campfire s’mores?

Aussie campfire s’mores made by our Year 9 Outdoor Education students!

The class gathered around the fire to toast marshmallows before sandwiching them between chocolate wheat biscuits for a simple but delicious outdoor treat.

Nothing beats learning outdoor skills while enjoying a warm campfire snack!
