KSC WELCOMES DEPUTY SECRETARY OF EDUCATION

Showcasing Student Leadership and School Success
We were delighted to welcome the Deputy Secretary of the Department of Education and accompanying staff to KSC this week. The visit provided an excellent opportunity to showcase our school community and celebrate the positive work taking place across the college.
Our SRC leaders, Yarning Circle students and School Captains proudly led a tour of the school, demonstrating the strong culture of student voice, leadership and engagement that continues to grow at KSC. The visiting group was impressed by the confidence and professionalism of our students, who spoke openly about their experiences and contributions to school life.
A key focus of the visit was our significant improvement in student attendance. Staff and students shared the strategies that have supported this growth and discussed the positive impact improved attendance is having on student learning, wellbeing and engagement.
The visit also provided an opportunity to discuss some of the challenges facing our school community, including the ongoing impact of the oval closure and the importance of maintaining quality spaces for students to learn, play and connect.
It was a valuable and productive visit that highlighted the strengths of our school, celebrated the achievements of our students, and reinforced the importance of strong partnerships between schools and the Department of Education. We thank our student leaders for representing KSC so proudly and helping make the visit such a success.
