THE VILLAGE

The Village: Supporting Students to Focus and Thrive
A slightly different version of The Village this week as we take a moment to focus on a bit of gratitude. It’s been a pretty busy couple of weeks with the Student Attitude to School Survey, exams, end-of-semester classes, and some staff absences. Even with all that going on, there’s been plenty to appreciate across our school community.
AToSS
We’ve really appreciated the way staff and students got behind the Student Attitude to School Survey. It takes a solid 20–40 minutes to complete, so it’s no small effort. It’s been great to see students sticking with it, focusing, and giving it a proper go.
STAR Room Mural
A group of students have recently planned and created a mural to brighten up the STAR room. The finished product looks awesome, but what stood out just as much was how they went about it. The Wellbeing team couldn’t speak more highly of the energy and positivity the group brought to the whole process.
Big thanks to Ms Burdett for supporting the students along the way. We might be a little biased, but we think it looks fantastic!

Exams
During the recent Years 10–12 exam period, it’s been great to hear how focused students have been on doing their best. With everything packed into a short space of time, it can feel pretty full-on, but both staff and students handled it really well.
A special shout out to Ms Sorrell for coordinating it all. It’s a huge job behind the scenes, and everything has run really smoothly.
Day to Day
One of the best things about walking around our school is just how friendly everyone is. We’re getting towards the end of term, energy levels are dipping a bit, and the weather’s turning—but you’ll still see plenty of smiles and people having a go.
Taking a moment to notice the good stuff can really lift your mood. We’re pretty lucky to be part of this community, and recognising that is good for all of us.
