Secondary School Message

Our Open Night was a great showcase of the whole College, with lots of current and new families visiting. One of the highlights was to see how many of our students were there to serve our community with demonstrations, tours, performances, and serving food and drinks. Many also assisted with the set up and pack up for the event, along with parents and teachers. Thank you again.

We welcomed our Year 11 class back from their camp at Katoomba. Check out the report in this newsletter. A big thank you to the staff who worked hard to prepare a great time away for the students: Mrs Smedley, Mrs Cunningham, Mr Smith and Mr Crick.

This week our F1 Racing Team are heading to the Nationals in Melbourne. What a great opportunity for these students and reward for their consistent efforts to develop their team, brand and product.

Many students are preparing and completing formal assessments as they conclude units of work. This can be a period of pressure as students put in the extra time to complete their tasks and demonstrate their understanding of key concepts and skills. Keep encouraging them to persevere in these important tasks, back up their work, and eat and sleep well.

Our Cross Country and Athletics Carnivals are being held before the end of the term. We’re looking forward to the energy and competition that these events produce, especially with a healthy House spirit that sees students spurring each other on to do their best or have a go. Go Lindner, Vincent, Rentoul and West!

Importantly, any off-site event requires your specific permission. Please ensure you have completed these permissions in the Compass app (see the College office if you need assistance with setting up the app). We ask that you complete the permission, even if the response is to ‘decline’. Please note that this permission must be completed for each child in your family who may be participating.

This week we welcomed Compassion Australia to continue their partnership with us by speaking with students on Tuesday morning and working with teachers for some training. We’re excited to begin connecting each class with their sponsor child over the coming weeks.
