From the Principal
Dear Parents,
In Philippians 4, Paul talks about learning contentment. He says he has learned to be content whether he has a lot or very little, whether in hardship or success. When he writes, “I can do all things through him who gives me strength,” he is not talking about achieving great things. He is talking about lasting through hard times. Paul’s strength did not come from easy or stable circumstances, but from a steady and sure trust in Jesus.
Our world often tells us we need more—more money, more comfort, more success. Philippians 4 reminds us of a different way. True peace comes from trusting God, not from having everything we want. As families, we can live this out each day by praying instead of worrying, choosing thankfulness, and trusting Jesus to give us strength. When we do this, our homes become places where our children learn contentment and peace.
Paul shocks us that while in prison for his faith and in harsh conditions, he declares his joy! Paul’s joy arises because of the support of the Philippians, who he considered his partners in God’s work. They did more than watch from the side. They shared in his work with prayer, generosity, compassion and commitment. Paul’s letter shows us the importance and joy of partnership for God’s work. Partnership in ministry is more than observation or even helping out once in a while, but an intentional investment in God’s work. Whether it is the work of your church, missionaries, charities or other Christian organisations, we are all called to invest in His work. When we choose to partner in God’s work, we not only have contentment and peace, but real joy in the purpose of our lives, lived for something more than our leisure and the fleeting chase of happiness that only ever ends in depression.
Parent-Teacher Interviews
Parent–teacher interviews are an important part of our partnership together in supporting your child’s learning and growth. We warmly invite all parents to book an interview through Compass and take the opportunity to connect, ask questions, and share insights about your child. You are also very welcome to book in to see me — I would love to meet with you, hear your story or feedback, and pray for your family. We value strong partnerships with families, knowing that when school and parents work together, students are best supported to thrive.

Reminder: Media Permission
At the start of the year, all students by default have been reset to ‘no permission’ for sharing photographs. Parents need to reset the permission option in their Compass App, if you are happy for us to share your child’s photographs either for internal publications (e.g., the newsletter, our annual ‘Common Ground’ yearbook), or publicly (e.g., social media, our website or other marketing). The permission option can be found under each student's profile on your Compass App. See images below for instructions. We’d love to keep this list accurate and will only share your child’s photographs with your permission.
