Primary School Message
A huge thank you to everyone who came along to our Open Evening on Thursday 5 March. It was a wonderful evening seeing the many opportunities offered across the College and celebrating the vibrant learning community we share. I am very thankful for the extra work of our Primary School teachers in preparing classrooms and displays for the night – it truly showcased the wonderful learning taking place each day.
It was also fantastic to see our Primary School Leadership Team serving throughout the evening. They did a wonderful job welcoming guests and helping families find their way around. It was a great example of our students living out the values of our school and serving others with enthusiasm and kindness.
At the moment I am meeting with many prospective Kindergarten families for 2027. If you know anyone who is considering sending their child to the College for Kindergarten in 2027, please encourage them to submit an application soon, as classes are likely to fill quickly.
This Friday we are excited to celebrate Harmony Day. Harmony Day is a special opportunity to celebrate that everyone belongs to our school. We consider it a great privilege that more than 25 different nations are represented in our community. Students are invited to wear orange, or something with orange in it, as a symbol of unity and belonging. As a Christian school, we celebrate the truth that we are all made in God’s image and deeply loved by Him:
“So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them.” Genesis 1:27
We look forward to celebrating the diversity of our community and giving thanks for the unity we share in Christ.
A reminder that Parent–Teacher Interviews will take place next Tuesday. These meetings are a wonderful opportunity to connect with your child’s teacher, hear about how they have settled into the year, and discuss their learning and growth. Bookings are through the Compass app.
We are also looking forward to the Years 3–6 Cross Country next Friday 27 March at Lake Albert. Parents are warmly welcome to come along and watch and support the students. Please ensure you have provided consent through Compass, as students cannot attend without permission being submitted.
Thank you for the way you continue to support the life of the College. It is a joy to partner together with families as we seek to nurture and guide each child in their learning, character and faith.
Wishing you all a wonderful week.

Words of Encouragement
Last week, our Year 3 students sat their very first NAPLAN test. Whilst we encourage students to think of NAPLAN as a normal part of student learning, we acknowledge that for some it may be the first time they have undertaken an external assessment. With this in mind, Primary School teachers gifted each student with words of encouragement, and cookies.
‘Your worth isn't measured by a score. God loves you no matter what marks you get – He just asks that you do your best with the gifts He has given you.’
‘Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord’
Colossians 3:23a (NIV)
Teddy Bear’s Picnic
Kindergarten’s Teddy Bear’s Picnic was a full day of fun and learning. Students were asked to bring their teddy to the College, with some preferring to bring their favourite soft toy. There were koalas, pandas, bunnies, puppies and even a crocodile.
Lessons were structured around teddy bears. Students engaged in written tasks where they described their bear; Mathematical tasks where they measured their bear using dominos and Cuisenaire blocks; Art tasks where they coloured in activity sheets, made bear crowns and decorated teddy bear biscuits.
The students also listened to stories including The Best Loved Bear and A Teddy Bear’s Picnic and acted out the story We’re Going on a Bear Hunt. Afterwards, a Teddy Bear’s Picnic was enjoyed by all in the beautiful, shaded Primary School Playground.
