Interview with Melinda Docker Prep Teacher

How long have you worked at BNPS?

I have worked at BNPS for nearly 20 years. I had a break when I had my children and returned when my youngest son started in Prep. 

What inspired you to be a teacher?

I wanted a job that made me happy and teaching children does exactly that! 

If you weren't a teacher, what career would have you pursued?

 If I hadn't become a teacher I would have loved to be a vet or a nurse. 

What is your favourite thing to do on weekends?

I love watching my children play sport, exploring the outdoors with my family, running, reading, and catching up with friends. 

If you could go on a holiday anywhere in the World, where would you go? 

Sicily and Canada are on the top of my travel list. 

What is something that your students might be surprised to learn about you?

When I was growing up, I had a one-eyed cat (Misty) and a three-legged dog (Cassie). 

What recently made you smile?

My beautiful Prep A class making my birthday so special today! 

What would you like to say to the students at BNPS?

"If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours".
