Year 1 News

Welcome back to Term 4! 

The Year 1 students have settled in well to Term 4. We have so many exciting activities to look forward to, including Swimming Lessons which we have now started and our Excursion to Werribee Zoo. 

Sharing The Planet 

We have begun our final Unit of Inquiry for the year exploring how living things adapt for life in their environment. The students have already discussed the difference between living and non-living things and have been learning about the different classifications of animals. 

They are becoming experts about the different features of Mammals, Reptiles, Fish, Birds and Amphibians. The students will end this unit presenting information on an animal of their choice. They have begun this process by selecting their animal and following a session in the library where they found nonfiction books, have started to record their information.  

Maths 

During this term the students will begin to develop their understanding of sharing, division and multiplication. They have been participating in many hands-on activities and have enjoyed relating their lessons to real life situations.
