What's On In 3/4

JSC – Walk to School Day
Last Wednesday, 11 June, Whitehorse PS celebrated Walk to School Day — and what a wonderful event it was!
A big thank you to Mrs Liberatore and the Junior School Council members for organising the day so thoughtfully. We’d also like to thank Cheryl for purchasing the delicious fruit, Miss Tia for preparing and cutting it into student-friendly portions, and Mrs Hume and Mr Den Elzen for meeting everyone at Peddlar Café to begin the walk. Students enjoyed a brisk and cheerful walk to school, chatting and laughing with friends and peers along the way.
Well done to everyone who took part in making this event such a success!
Level 3/4 Students Shine at Literacy Safari
Our Level 3/4 students have been working diligently on their Information Reports, focusing on the theme of Sustainability. After weeks of research, writing, and crafting related projects, their efforts culminated in a fantastic showcase during the afternoon of our whole-school Literacy Safari. Families, friends, and special guests were invited to celebrate the students’ learning, where they proudly presented their reports and sustainability-themed creations. It was a wonderful opportunity to share knowledge, creativity, and environmental awareness with our wider school community.
A Tasty End to Our Kitchen/Garden Program
Our Kitchen and Garden Program wrapped up on a high note with some truly delicious creations featuring our well-loved and successfully grown Jerusalem artichokes! Students thoroughly enjoyed preparing, cooking, and tasting a variety of dishes—including scrumptious scones served alongside a smooth, warm soup. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the season's harvest.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our incredible volunteers who generously give their time to support Deb, Ash, and our students in both the kitchen and the garden. This program simply wouldn’t be possible without their ongoing dedication and support—we truly appreciate everything you do!
Senior Choir Hits the Right Note!
Wow—what an incredible performance from our very own Senior Choir! Under the expert guidance of the incomparable Mrs Tessalaar, the students lit up the stage with an energetic and polished rendition of the Michael Jackson hit Beat It. Their passion, talent, and hard work were on full display during our recent school assembly, leaving the whole school and wider community thoroughly impressed.
We are so proud of the choir's efforts and can’t wait to see what amazing performances lie ahead!
