What's On In Foundation

 PMP

Thank you to all the wonderful volunteers we have had this past term. The students have loved working with different helpers as they have a turn at all the different activities. The students have been working on improving their skills in the areas of fitness, balance, locomotion and eye tracking skills. All activities that are set up each week are there to help the students with their confidence listening skills, memory span and problem solving.

We will continue PMP next term and are once again hoping we can get volunteers. Please click on the link below to register your availability. The whole term has been listed for your convenience, so you can plan ahead.

Thank you once again for all your support.

Garden

Our Foundation students are loving spending time each week in our garden! Ashley has us planting, digging, washing, feeding and trying new foods. We were excited to pick a pomegranate from the tree and taste its delicious seeds. Figs and plums were also a highlight! Each week the chickens are hand fed, eggs are searched for and the coup is swept out to ensure they have the best living conditions. We can’t wait to continue our garden adventures next term!

Literacy Safari

There was certainly a buzz in the Foundation classroom last Tuesday when lots of Literacy ‘hunters’ explored our Foundation savannah in search of writing. Students were so proud to showcase everything FROG! We displayed our Tiddalik recounts, frog information texts and even a sentence where we used the ‘power of three’ to add adjectives to make our writing more engaging.

On our tables Phonics really came to life! Letter tiles help us to make words, phonics matching games helped us to read CVC words and we even made words with peg letters. A highlight was developing our oral language when we made Tiddalik puppets and created a story retell.

We are so proud of the Literacy learning of all our students, and are so excited to see how they will continue to zoom in Semester 2!
