Assistant Principal's Report

Assistant Principal Report

It has been such a wonderful term at Whitehorse Primary School.

Thank you to all the staff, students and families who have welcomed me so warmly.

Students have been working hard in all areas of their learning and have celebrated so many achievements in the classroom and specialist areas. So much positive growth and lots to feel proud about!

Canine Comprehension

Students in 3/4 participating in Canine Comprehension have now completed the program and learnt a lot about how to regulate their emotions, ask for help when they need it and further develop their confidence and social skills. Students also learnt how to train the dogs to do tricks like rolling over, sitting, shaking hands and jumping through mini obstacle courses. Over the course of the program, students actually got to meet 4 different dogs - Bambi, Jonesy, Billie and Charlie!

Student Leaders

I have enjoyed working with our Student Leaders this term.

Students are currently looking at Student Voice and Agency and reflecting on how they can have a positive impact on our school and wider community through their leadership role. A reminder though that all students can be leaders as it is their actions that make them a great leader not a title or a badge!

This term it was also wonderful to witness students in Year 3/4 step up and lead Assembly while 5/6 students participated in Interschool Sport.

Next Term

I am looking forward to another term at Whitehorse Primary School next term and can’t wait to be part of more amazing learning experiences and school events.

Have a wonderful holiday break to our families and stay well.
