Reconciliation Week

Students were able to participate in a range of activities around MITS as well as many in the wider community over the course of Reconciliation week. Many of our pathways students had significant roles in their schools Reconciliation Events, including speaking, doing Acknowledgement to Country and meeting with elders.
Dreamtime at the 'G'
Our close connection with Richmond Football Club allowed many of the MITS students to have very unique experiences over the course of Dreamtime week.
Dermilie, Darius and Lailani represented the school by attending the Richmond Presidents Function before the game, where they delivered the Acknowledgement to Country and also got to meet Prime Minister Anthony Albanese MP.
During the week the MITS students attended a training match and KGI lunch at the Punt Road which was a highlight for many.
The students also presented the players with hand painted and designed footy boots.
Some of the students were lucky enough to be part of the guard of honour for the AFL match and everyone went along and cheered for the big game as well. Thanks to RFC and MCC who enable the MITS students to be such a big part of the week at the 'G'.
