We're back for Term 2

This term has been filled with lots of fun events like Cross Country, Anzac Day, Open Morning, Life Ed, Interschool Sports, classwork, Hooptime and more.

This term we did cross country on Friday 1st of May. It was a great day with lots of fun. Lots of us also got to advance to District, and race representing Andersons Creek at the District competition. That has already happened on Tuesday 12th of May. We also have Division coming up on Monday 2nd June. But back to the first round everyone had a go and did amazing. At the end of the day our preps arrived and did a fun run with their grade 6 buddies. For them it was a big run but it was worth it for all the other kids cheered them on at the end towards the finish line. We have 6 people representing our school at Division from grade 4 to grade 6. One interesting thing is that on the first round our usual cross country course changed due to an oval being under construction and we moved to running along the river. It was different but we got to look out at the river as we were running. We did have to dodge some people but at least we got to see some adorable dogs! Anyways cross country is a great event and it was a lot of fun.

All throughout this term the production team worked so hard on making our Aladdin JR amazing! We all loved singing and dancing and it was so fun spending time rehearsing with Gav. I had the great opportunity to play Aladdin and I loved it. It was such a good opportunity for me because I love singing, dancing, acting and basically everything about theatre! Thankyou to all the helpers from the bio box, back stage, the dressing room, makeup station, choreography, set design, parent helpers, etc. Though the actors make the stage shine, the production would not be possible without our behind the scenes team. We all enjoyed it all so much and can’t wait to see Gav puts on next year!

Earlier this term we did an Anzac service in Templestowe where other schools participated and paid tribute to people who sacrificed their lives to fight for our country. And it was a great opportunity to go outside of school and represent our school to go to a special occasion and every school got to lay a wreath (Atanaz and Joey had the opportunity to do it). We listened to I'm Australian, The Last Post, held 1 minute of silence and the Australian and New Zealand national anthems. We all had a great time participating to do such a great thing like this and have this opportunity.

Overall in Interschool Sports this term, we have been trying our hardest, with netball winning a few games, footy getting lots of marks and tackles, bat tennis getting a few hits, tee ball speeding past bases and soccer giving it a go with just missing the goals. We have had a few wins but we will keep on trying hard and will push through the rest of the season.

This term we had Hooptime. It was a blast. The whole school played basketball against other schools at Mullum Mullum Stadium. There were three categories, Future Stars which means they already play basketball, All Stars which means they play rep basketball and the Rookies which don’t play basketball but everyone still gave it a go and everyone did awesome. Everyone played 4 or more games. We even had a team make it to the next stage which means they won the grand final! The Rookies also won everything but they didn't get to do finals. Overall I think it was a great day and everyone had a great time and won at least 1 game.
