Welcome to the New School Term

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope this message finds you well and that your children have had an enjoyable and restful break. As we embark on our final term for 2023, we look forward to many exciting events, especially swimming and our Performing Arts Production, coming up on Monday 30 October and Wednesday 1 November. This will be an exciting time for the children, staff and parent community. It's an opportunity for growth, learning, and new experiences, and we are thrilled to be providing this as part of your child's educational journey. We believe that this term holds great promise, and we are dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment for your children. Staff Conference 2023

Following our School Production, on Thursday 2 and Friday 3 November, we have two school closure days for our 2023 Staff Conference. On these days, the staff will be attending the Aboriginal Catholic Ministry in Thornbury and other sites of religious significance around the city of Melbourne.  The office will be closed on both of these days as the office staff will be participating in these two days, along with the Teachers and Learning Support Officers. This runs into the Melbourne Cup weekend.  School will recommence for the children on Wednesday 8 November.

Yarra Junction Place Plan

As a school, we have been invited by Yarra Ranges Council to assist with the development of the Yarra Junction Place Plan.

This involves:

  • Identifying issues and opportunities for our school
  • Understanding what is valued by the school community
  • Developing a community vision, establishing priorities and creating an action plan for the future of our school in the Yarra Junction community

The feedback from this phase of the project will be used to develop a Yarra Junction Place Plan and we would like our school to be prioritised within this plan. The Place Plan will influence future local developments and projects. The Council want to know:

What do we love about Yarra Junction?

Where are the opportunities for St Joseph's?

What would we like to see in the future for our school?

If you have any thoughts to share, please email them to principal@sjyarrajunction.catholic.edu.au with Yarra Junction Place Plan in the subject line.  I will be sure to contribute your thoughts in the feedback from our school.
