Welcome back to Term 4 in Japanese Class! Hope you had a restful holiday and you all are fully charged to go through this final term together with fun and exciting lessons.

We had some fun lessons in the last week of Term 3. In Foundation to Grades 1 / 2 classes, we made some rice balls with seaweed. Students have experienced making rice balls with some Japanese seasoning called Yukari (Japanese herbs). From Grades 3 to 6 classes, we had some tea with some snacks. We learned some onomatopoeia in Japanese associated with food such as crunchy かりかり"karikari", fluffy ふわふわ"fuwafuwa" and chewy もちもち”mochimochi”.

Have you seen the moon last week? We had お月見’moon viewing festival’ in Japan which is a seasonal festival to celebrate the beauty of the Autumn moon. Students learned some fun facts about Otsukimi. Japanese people used to pray for a good harvest for the next year. It can also protect the crops from evil spirits and disaster.

Our target phrases for this month!

どこにいきましたか。”dokoni ikimashitaka” Where did you go?

That's all from the Japanese class!

Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.
