Secondary Update

National Reconciliation Week 2024

The National Reconciliation Week theme for 2024, Now More Than Ever, is a reminder to all of us that no matter what, the fight for justice and the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people will - and must - continue. This week, Secondary students have been exploring various Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander texts from the Reconciliation Library they helped establish - the Eddie Betts book series and TV show, Lil Homies, are a firm favourite! Secondary students have also really enjoyed navigating the app, Wadawurrung Language - Intro, where they can discover how to say animal and plant names, body parts, and more in the Wadawurrung language of the region that encompasses Geelong and Ballarat areas of Victoria.

Mother's and Special Person's Day

Secondary students loved welcoming the Mums and Special People in their lives to school to celebrate Mother's and Special Person's Day. Students had been busy making thoughtful gifts and carefully choosing special treats from the wonderful stall, run by Secondary students. Thanks to everyone who visited, decorated bickies, and brought a wonderful sense of community to the Secondary cohort.

Staying active

Secondary students continue to enjoy our Learn to Swim Program with Mary this term, supporting and challenging them with water safety and survival skills. We are also lucky to have Football Victoria joining us currently for a 6 week Soccer Clinic - goooaaal!
