Education Week

In week 5 of this term, it was Education Week and the spotlight was on STEM, to highlight the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics in our everyday lives, in our classroom and beyond.

On Thursday, parents and carers were invited to be a part of exciting inquiries and experiments around the focus on ice. It was so much fun! We had balloons with water in them and balloons with ice, feeling the difference, wondering what would happen if I dropped them on the ground? We also had tubs and bowls of ice, pouring different ingredients into each (sugar, cornflour, bicarb soda, salt) and looking at the change. We saw ice melt faster, created soft snow using the bicarb soda, made a slime consistency with the combination of melting ice and cornflour.
