Geology through a First Nations Lens
Year 7 Science meets geology, culture and deep time!
Our Year 7 scientists recently explored geology through a First Nations lens as part of a STEM activity with Deadly Science.
Students investigated how the three main rock types form and change through the rock cycle, while learning about the many ways Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have used rocks and geological materials for tools, art, shelter and cultural practices.
Students designed and carved their own symbolic petroglyphs in plaster – combining science, creativity and cultural learning.
